mushroom mushroom...

A mushroom is soft (character = soft.. compassionate).

Have you ever seen a mushroom that pushes up through cement?

I haven't, but I've heard it happens. I can't wait until I do.

Cement is hard like a brick, yet a mushroom can break through it, despite being soft.

It means that you don't have to be hard to be strong. Think about it.

....or does it mean that no matter what life lays down on you, and no matter how long it's left to set, that you can still come through it?

The very thought of breaking through concrete conjours up the idea of breaking strongholds.

Thoughts and beliefs that were once fluid, were moulded by those events and people around you. Perhaps some of these are good values, perhaps some are bad. Regardless, like the mushroon, you can break through the ones you want to, to change your thoughts. Your actions.

Mushrooms are a type of fungus, with fungi generally being regarded as unwanted and unhealthy growths.

It could easily represent the development of stagnant habits that push through our firm foundations of strong, healthy character... But yours is a much nicer thought ;)

Or it could mean that the mushroom is just growing through a bit of concrete.

Just kidding.

Switch, Steff and Sammy are definitely University students, with way too much time on their hands!

[Again, joke]

I like the analogy, I really do.

For the record, it was actually a 'word' spoken over me over the weekend. It was really interesting I just had to write it down!
